WELCOME TO LAKEVIEW NEIGHBOURHOOD
The Lakeview neighbourhood is located in the south east area of Mississauga close to Etobicoke and Mimico. Lake Ontario is the border to the South. Cawthra Road is the western boundary and travels north to The Queensway.
The demand in the Lakeview neighbourhood has continued to grow as it goes through a change. Toronto area is expanding and investors are buying the smaller pre-war homes and building new ones. Existing homeowners enjoy lake views, golf courses and a number of beautiful parks. Even thought there are higher prices for lake front view, investors continue to buy properties here to build custom homes. Those looking to downsize are coming to Lakeview to build their dream home.
HOMES
One of the other attractive features is the size of lots in this neighbourhood. These homes are older, and typically have 3 bedrooms, and one bathroom. When these homes were built they were much smaller than the newer homes being built now. They had a very traditional layout unlike the newer ones with a more open concept design. There were a lot of bungalows and small two story detached homes built back then. The wide streets are lined with tall trees . The homes are well cared for with manicured lawns and colourful flower beds. Most homes in this era had a single car garage, or no garage. Basements were usually not finished back then. Now, basements are finished as they add more living space and increase the value.
OUTDOOR LIFE
One of the things that attracts families to this neighbourhood is the many parks for families to enjoy. There are four large parks in the Lakeview neighbourhood. Along the East side is Etobicoke Valley Park and Cawthra Park is on the west side. The other two parks, Marie Curtis and Lakefront Promenade each having waterfront views.
Lakeview is in an ideal location because of its easy access for people travelling to work in Toronto. If you travel by train, there are GO stations nearby, one in Port Credit and one in Long Branch. You also have quick access to the QEW, as well as the 427.
Shopping is not within walking distance to the large box stores, but they are within a 5-10 minute drive. Sherway Mall is close by on The Queensway, and the Dixie Outlet Mall is on the south service road close to the QEW.
