WELCOME TO LORNE PARK NEIGHBOURHOOD
Did you know that the neighbourhood of Lorne Park in Mississauga began as a resort?
Lorne Park is one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Mississauga, and the Greater Toronto area and has many ultra-high end and gracious homes . It’s close proximity to Toronto makes this area very desirable for commuters who work in Toronto.
Lorne Park is a very family oriented mature neighbourhood. The schools in the area have great reputations, and Lorne Park Secondary is well known for its high athletic achievements. It is located in the south end of the City of Mississauga includes the area from the Credit River to Southdown Road to the West, and from the QEW south to Lakeshore Road.
This community also has the benefit of being close to the village of Port Credit with its Marina, fine restaurants and shops, as well as the exclusive area of Rattray Marsh Conservation area and Clarkson Village.
Lorne Park consists of bungalows on large lots usually about 70 feet wide and 150++ feet deep. These are now being torn down and larger homes are being built. Buyers have discover what people have named the new Oakville with its tree-lines streets on Lake Ontario. It is a very special place where one can pack a lunch along with a good book and relax on a warm summer day on the beach.
Lorne Park Estate is a community of 77 acres located south of Lorne Park. It is bordered by Lakeshore Road on the north, Richard’s Memorial park on the East, Lake Ontario on the South and Jack Darling Park to the West.
Watercolours – Lorne Park
A new community was established in Lorne Park just under 10 years ago called Watercolours. It is a luxury, high end development created and built by Mattamy homes, and is one of the most sought after areas of Lorne Park.
Within the Watercolours development close to the entrance you will find an elementary school with grades ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8.
Rattray Marsh – Clarkson Village
Rattray Marsh is a pedestrian use only trial, that routes through Clarkson Villagae South along Orr Road and Contour Road. It represents a significant linked trial network in the neighbourhood.
Rattray Marsh is one of the many trails in Mississauga that allow for the use of bicycles and off roads, through natural and urban settings. This great network of trails was developed through city Master Plan. It also had the support of the Mississauga Cycling Committee.
There is ample parking for anyone wanting to use the Rattray Marsh at the southern end of Jack Darling park, which is adjacent fo the marsh area… It is a short walking distance southwest to join up with the marsh trails.
